Fresh from her recent engagement to partner Michael Fria, content creator and advocate Ayn Bernos is looking forward to the next chapter of her life which includes wedding planning and new personal goals.

In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN at Because She Can: Preventive Health for a Thriving Future-A Women’s Health roundtable event, Ayn admitted that becoming engaged still feels surreal.

“It’s been so surreal. I’m just so happy because I feel like, you know, some of these things feel like it’s never gonna happen to you,” Ayn shared.

She went on: “You’ve watched everybody have their (moments) but I feel like we are in a really good place in our relationship and I’m happy and looking forward to this new chapter.”

While the couple has yet to finalize all the details, Ayn revealed that they are eyeing to hold the wedding soon.

“Probably next year. As a planner, syempre, I planned a lot of things and that’s one of them that I’m really excited to get into: the wedding planning phase, especially because my fiancee is a wedding host,” she shared.

According to Ayn, preparing for the big day is something she and Michael are especially looking forward to, having worked closely with wedding suppliers and event professionals throughout their careers.

“We’ve been to so many events together. We worked with a lot of suppliers already so it’s really something that we will have fun doing,” she said.

Earlier this month, Ayn announced her engagement with Michael after two years of dating.

“The perfect day 🤍🥹 So excited to love you for the rest of our lives @michaelfriaramma 🥹,” Ayn wrote.

In another post, Ayn shared a clip from Michael’s proposal by the beach, saying: “It was a gloomy day, and then the sun came out just in time for this 🥹 No notes, so thankful for you and all that you do, chikababy!!!!!! Video captured by my sister @elynbernos who was hiding with the rest of our families 🤍.”

Excited now to plan her future with Michael, Ayn said she has no plans to return to the pageant stage despite the recent trend of former beauty queens making comebacks.

“I don’t think it’s for me anymore,” the content creator admitted. “You know, after (my experience), I’ve learned so much from pageantry and I love watching and supporting. Grabe ‘yung queens ng Pilipinas! Hindi tayo nauubusan ng bala, to be honest. Everyone is so, so good.”

Ayn competed in Miss Universe Philippines 2021 as the representative of San Juan City, where she finished as part of the Top 30. While she has gained valuable lessons from pageantry, Ayn feels that chapter of her life is already over.

“For me, I’m really not in that space anymore and that phase in my life to be able to invest so much. Because pageantry really takes a lot of you and it's a lot of resources and a lot of time, energy,” she added.

For now, Ayn prefers to focus her time and energy on other priorities such as her fitness journey. “Moving forward, I am doing a lot of fitness. Ayon yung mga hobbies namin today and I have fun doing it.”
