As excitement builds for Toy Story 5, fans are buzzing over one question: could Taylor Swift be involved in the beloved animated franchise’s newest installment?

Online discussions erupted after a mysterious billboard carrying the initials “TS” was unveiled on May 30. Set against the familiar blue sky and white clouds associated with the Toy Story universe, the display immediately caught the attention of Swifties, who quickly began examining every detail for possible clues.

Among the details that sparked conversation was the number of clouds appearing on the billboard. The clouds were 13 – a number long associated with Taylor and often regarded as her signature lucky number, leading many to wonder whether the teaser was hinting at something more than just the film’s title.

Speculation grew stronger when Pixar shared footage of the billboard on Instagram alongside an image of Jessie dancing on the installation.

“She’s making those moves up as she goes!” Pixar captioned the post.

For many fans, the caption sounded strikingly familiar, prompting comparisons to lyrics from Taylor’s 2014 hit “Shake It Off.” The post quickly became a hot topic online, with social media users sharing theories that the singer could be lending her voice to a new character or possibly contributing music to the film.

“Tell me Taylor Swift is voicing a new character!!😍😍 (who also sings an original song for the movie…) 👀,” one fan commented.

“THE DISNEY SWIFTIE ADULTS ARE LIVING FOR THIS!!! 👏🙌,” another wrote.

The excitement only intensified when Disney flagship accounts joined the conversation with comments that many interpreted as playful references to Taylor’s music.

“She’s got a friend in us! 🩵☁️,” Disney Music commented, while Disney Style added, “We are READY FOR IT 👏.”

Fans also pointed to another curious detail involving Taylor’s music catalog. On streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify, some noticed that the cover art for 1989 (Taylor’s Version) appeared updated, with five clouds replacing the original seagulls in the background, a detail some connected to Toy Story 5.

Adding another layer to the ongoing theories is the film’s international release date on June 19, which coincides with the 20th anniversary of Taylor’s debut single, “Tim McGraw.”

The growing buzz eventually reached the filmmakers themselves.

During a video interview with British YouTuber Shivani Khosla, director Andrew Stanton, co-director McKenna Harris, and producer Lindsey Collins were asked about rumors claiming Taylor may have recorded a song for the film.

Rather than dismissing the speculation outright, the filmmakers admitted they were surprised by how quickly fans picked up on the clues and formed theories.

“We never seen it before and it surprised us,” Andrew said.

“That would be pretty amazing,” Lindsey added.

Andrew later addressed one aspect of the rumor involving the movie’s soundtrack, saying that the ending song is not the singer-songwriter's.

“The sad truth is, we watched the movie being mixed last week, done, and the song on the end of that was not [a] Taylor Swift’s song.”

Still, many continue to wonder whether Taylor could still have another kind of involvement in the movie, especially after Grammy-winning artist Bad Bunny was revealed to be joining the film with a cameo voice role as Pizza with Sunglasses.

For now, the mystery behind the “TS” campaign remains part of the excitement surrounding Toy Story 5, with fans continuing to search for answers while eagerly awaiting the film’s arrival.

Toy Story 5 is scheduled to open in Philippine cinemas on June 17.
