Kapamilya actor and social media personality Esnyr Ranollo said that there is still a lot to watch out for in his character in the hit series, The Secrets of Hotel 88. During the media conference for the midseason of the show, he gave a little hint at what fans could expect as the series progresses.
Esnyr portrays Raphie Salcedo, one of Hotel 88's hoteliers and Monette's sibling (played by Klarisse de Guzman). In the midseason trailer, Raphie was seen screaming and showing a deeper character in comparison to his initial light and bubbly self at the beginning of the series.
He shared that he didn’t watch the preview of the scene, saying it made him cringe at himself, but he still placed his full trust in the director and the rest of the production staff.
“Medyo natatakot talaga ako, hindi ko pinaplay kay direk yun, hindi ako tumingin sa screen, hindi ako nag preview as in nag cringe ako sa sarili ko. Pero, confident naman ako na bring out nila direk yung best in me at may naipakita kaming flavor,” he expressed.
Esnyr maintained that his character in the series could be a breakthrough for his young acting career. The Kapamilya actor has acted in a television show and several films, such as How To Spot A Red Flag, Call Me Mother, Love is Color Blind, and Balota, among others.
He admitted how surprised he was with the script that was given to him as it was another layer of his character in the show–– far from the usual lighthearted ones he did.
“Actually, natakot ako nung pagbasa ko sa script ko na hala may ganitong eksena? Akala ko patawa lang ito ganyan pero siguro grateful din ako na finally, I can be more,” he shared.
“I can do more than just providing lightness sa story–– comic relief. So siguro ito na yun, yung hinihintay ng mga tao na paano kaya kung more than that yung pinagdadaanan nila Raphie,” he added.

When asked to give more details, Esnyr just smiled as he invited the fans to watch more to find out what Raphie will do.
“Wala pa yun, there’s so much more at I can’t wait na mapanood nila yung mga reason kung bakit gumanon si Raphie,” he ended.
