Prior to their recent collaboration, which has gone viral, there were rumors that James Reid and Daniel Padilla were estranged from one another, fueled by their respective fan bases.
But the ice was finally broken when Reid and Padilla appeared on the same stage at a recent event at SM Megamall.

Attended by their devoted supporters, the brand event showed Reid and Padilla performing and answering questions. At the gathering, it was clear that the two Kapamilya A-list stars were at ease with one another, with Reid mentioning Padilla’s ex-girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo as his new leading lady.
In the viral clip, Reid, who was seated next to Padilla, said, “Malapit na. Malapit na [ang] ‘Someone, Someday.’ Of course with Kathryn Bernardo.”

Reid and Padilla were also asked by the event’s official host DJ JhaiHo if they would be interested for a back-to-back concert.
Reid responded, “Game ako.”
“Why not? Siyempre. Bakit naman hindi?” Padilla answered.

Fans then cheered, expressing their support for both Reid and Padilla.
“Nakakatuwa na magkakasabay tayong tumatanda, nagiging propesyonal, at kasama pa rin tayo sa buhay nila. Nakakatuwa lang na sabay-sabay tayong tumatanda. Sobrang grateful,” Padilla told his fans.
