Not many men would openly admit that their wife runs the household — but Erwan Heussaff does so proudly.

In an interview with Matteo Guidicelli on Matteo G. Primetime, Erwan opened up about his personal life, including what it's like raising their daughter Dahlia, and the dynamics of his relationship with Anne Curtis.

When asked how they managed to raise a child who already cooks alongside him at such a young age, Erwan credited the time and love he and Anne poured into their unica hija, particularly during her first year.

Dahlia was born on March 2, 2020.

“We are lucky that she was born during the pandemic. So it forced Anne and me to be at home with her for basically a year. She was at home with us for 11 months, with Anne’s mom,” Erwan said.

“We were stuck in Melbourne during the pandemic. So just being able to get to know her during that first year of life so intimately, I think, was super important,” he added.

Erwan also acknowledged that he and Anne have quite different approaches to parenting — rather than always presenting a unified front, they each bring their own style to raising Dahlia.

“We’re all very independent with how we take care of Dahlia,” Erwan said.

Through the years of marriage, he said he discovered a side of Anne he hadn't anticipated: what he described as her "crazy mom" mode — a fierce, all-in approach to motherhood that clearly left an impression on him.

“Anne and I are very independent people. And I always knew she was very emotional. But when it comes to Dahlia, it kind of unlocks this crazy mom thing where she’s like super careful with Dahlia,” he said.

As for who holds the authority at home, Erwan was equally candid. He admitted that Anne is, without question, the boss of the household — and that he's perfectly fine with that. "I just go along with it," he remarked.

To which Matteo responded with: “Sarah’s the boss, too.”

Erwan also touched on the secret behind their lasting marriage.

“I think for us, it’s really respect. It’s not trying to change who we are, who you were. Obviously, as people, you wanna challenge each other and kinda grow together and evolve. [But] it doesn’t mean someone can’t change,” he said.

“If you decide to marry a person, you’re marrying that person in that moment — and whatever comes with that person, right?” he added.

The FEATR founder and culinary personality said he knew Anne was the one when he realized she never held him back from pursuing anything in life — a quality he clearly values deeply.

“It circles back to knowing that it was someone who would be supportive in anything that you do and not prevent you from blossoming,” he said.

“I can tell Anne tomorrow, ‘Hey, I have to leave for two weeks.’ She won’t be like, ‘Why? Who? Where?’ She’d be like, ‘Okay, go ahead. Let me know when you’re back’,” he added.

He continued: “Same with her and me. If she says, ‘Look, I have to work for two weeks and do this thing,’ go for it.”

Erwan and Anne have been married since November 12, 2017.
