Abyss Company, the talent agency of Sandara Park, said that her exclusive contract with them had already expired. This announcement was made following drug use allegations made by fellow 2NE1 member, Park Bom.

On March 3, Bom uploaded a post showing a now-deleted handwritten letter on Instagram talking about the 2014 drug controversy linked to her being accused of importing the psychotropic medication Adderall into South Korea in 2010. At the time, prosecutors suspended her case after determining that the medication had been prescribed for medical treatment. Despite this, the issue resurfaced years later and continued to influence public perception of Bom.

In her handwritten message, Bom said she had “something sensitive and frightening” to reveal that continues to take a toll on her mental well-being.

“I am being cautious in case it causes uproar, but the medication Adderall, which is labeled as a psychotropic drug, weighs on my mind. I really didn’t want to bring it up again,” she wrote, as translated by Koreaboo.

Bom reiterated that Adderall had been prescribed to treat her Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and went on to claim that Sandara had previously been involved in drug use, alleging that she herself was presented as a substitute to divert attention from that issue.

“It is not a drug. I am an ADD patient, something called Attention Deficit Disorder. Sandara Park was caught for drug abuse, and to cover that up, they turned the medication into something labeled as a drug scandal involving me,” Bom wrote.

Bom did not identify who she claimed orchestrated the situation. As of this writing, Sandara has also not released any statement addressing the claims.

Following Sandara’s name being linked to the allegations, her talent agency, Abyss Company, confirmed that her contract with the company had already ended. According to OSEN, as reported by The Chosun Daily, the agency said that “the exclusive contract has now expired,” referring to Sandara’s contract. The company did not provide additional details and neither confirmed nor denied Bom’s allegations.

It can also be noted that Sandara’s profile is no longer available on the official Abyss Company website, while profiles of other artists remain accessible. However, her photos and videos are still visible on the agency’s Instagram account.

Meanwhile, Sandara’s personal social media accounts remain active, with many netizens expressing support in the comments amid the controversy, while others are calling for her own clarification of the issue.

Sandara signed with Abyss Company in September 2021, after YG Entertainment confirmed in May of the same year that the singer would be parting ways with them after 17 years.
