OPM singer and songwriter Dionela is now married to his longtime partner Meizy Mendoza, four months after his memorable onstage proposal.
Based on social media posts shared by their friends and colleagues in the local music scene, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate garden-themed ceremony attended by close family and friends.
Among those present was Kapamilya host Aiyana Perlas, who also served as the event’s host. She shared snaps from the celebration, including a lighthearted photo with the newlyweds.
“this picture confuses me BUT I love you both. thank you for having me as your host for your very special night. it was my PLEASURE. congratulations, @mijitown @dionelaofficial,” Aiyana said, sharing a photo with Meizy and Dionela.
Concert directors Paolo Valenciano and Nico Faustino, who previously helmed Dionela’s solo concert at the New Frontier Theater, were also in attendance, along with Paolo’s wife Samantha Godinez Valenciano. Fellow artists Ena Mori and Japs Mendoza of OPM band The Juans were also spotted celebrating with the couple.
In a post on his Facebook page, Dionela shared a glimpse of the ceremony from his perspective, capturing the moment Meizy was about to walk down the aisle.
“Wait lang sa new music mga idol, ikakasal lang kami saglit brb (be right back),” he wrote.
The celebration also had its share of fun moments, including an appearance by content creator Ian Mark Kamangkang, popularly known as the viral “pitik queen.”. In a video, he showed his famous “pitik” dance moves during the wedding reception.
“Wait super fan boy moment 🥹 I love pitik queen so much!!!! Minsan lang ako ma star struck and tonight, I was quite struckT. Oh btw , congrats Tim and meizy 🤣🤣🤣,” Paolo said in a post where he took a selfie with Ian.
Dionela first proposed to Meizy during the opening night of his The Grace Tour Manila concert, surprising her onstage after inviting her to sing the chorus of his song “Bahaghari,” a track inspired by their relationship and his love for Meizy.
“Sinamahan mo ’ko mula umpisa, hanggang sa dulo mahal,” he told her. “Naalala ko na kasama kita noong binenta ko yung huling gitara ko at gusto ko nang mag-quit. Tapos umiiyak tayong dalawa nun. Nandito na tayo sa New Frontier, ang daming tao. Sinamahan mo ’ko mula umpisa hanggang ngayon. Gusto sana kitang yayain [na] samahan mo ’ko habang buhay.”

Meizy has long been the singer’s muse, inspiring several of his songs, including “Marilag,” “Bahaghari,” and “Oksihina.” In an earlier post, Dionela credited her for helping him rediscover his passion for music.
"My girl Meizy took care of me and helped me reignite my fire, shaping who I am today. ‘Marilag’ is not just a song—it’s my testimony," he wrote in an old Facebook post.
