Kapuso actor-host Mavy Legaspi took to social media to clear the air after viewers noticed his unusually slow manner of speaking during the Big Night of the Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0.
Following the much-anticipated finale, a clip from the show’s livestream quickly circulated online, putting Mavy at the center of criticism. In the viral moment, he was seen carefully pacing his words as he waited for his co-host Alexa Ilacad to join him on screen. Netizens questioned his delivery, with many wondering why he spoke ‘slow’ during the show’s Big Night.
In a Facebook post on March 1, Mavy directly addressed the issue and attributed it to a technical difficulty they experienced during the live event.
"We experienced the worst microphone delay and could literally hear our voices echo in the venue which made it difficult to talk," he wrote.
He went on to apologize to viewers, acknowledging how the delay affected his hosting and assuring fans that they pushed through despite the challenge.
"I would like to apologize if I sounded slow at times during our online live session on YouTube & Facebook," he added. "We did our best even if it was really difficult because of the sound delay. Thank you for being patient with us!"

Showing his lighter side, Mavy later shared a candid photo reacting to what he called his “cringe” moment.
He posted, “OMG 😂😂😂 cringe nga! Anyway, thank you for supporting PBB Collab 2.0. It was a very successful night. Congrats Caprice & Lella! Love you all! ♥️ #cringe”
In the comments section, Mavy explained that he also went live on Instagram after the event to further clarify what happened. In the recorded broadcast he shared, Mavy admitted that he initially thought everything sounded fine on air, unaware of how it came across to viewers.
“Yes, it was a cringe moment of mine. We all have those moments. At that point, hindi naman ako kinakabahan. I was very confident, very much enjoying that day,” he maintained.
He stressed that he was not blaming anyone for the mishap, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of live television.
“Wala akong sinisisi...Again it was a live show, anything could happen. Us host, we do our best to just give it our best no matter what happens. Nagkaroon ng malfunction, nagkaroon ako ng cringe moment,” he said.
According to Mavy, the overlapping audio inside the venue prompted him to slow down his speech, believing the delay was also audible on the livestream.
“My first instinct obviously was to speak slowly because akala ko sa livestream naririnig yung delay...After every break tinatanong ko yung production if okay ba ‘yung register online. Sinasabi nila ‘Okay naman, good job. Continue mo lang’ so that’s what I did,” he recalled.
“With that, kudos to my co-host Alexa. She did a wonderful job adjusting sa mga nangyayari. She is so professional and she handled it really well. I’m sure she is used to that and ako naman, nagkaroon ng cringe [moment] for that 1 minute na sobrang naging malala yung delay,” he added.
Despite the criticisms, Mavy said he now looks back at the experience lightheartedly.
“It was funny to watch,” he candidly said.
Mavy is among the Kapuso hosts of the celebrity collab edition, which began in 2025, alongside Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia and several Kapamilya hosts.
Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 concluded on the Big Night with Caprice Cayetano and Lella Ford as Big Winners. Heath Jornales and Krystal Mejes finished as Second Big Placers, Ashley Sarmiento and Joaquin Arce placed third, while Princess Aliyah and Miguel Vergara ended their journey as Fourth Big Placers.
