Prior to turning the big 5-0 this year, Chito Miranda celebrated his birthday out of town at a beach with his wife Neri Miranda and their family. The Parokya ni Edgar frontman had always been vocal on social media about his musings in life and celebrating a birthday milestone proved no different. Last February 7, he shared how his views on getting older had changed now that he is 50 years old.
When my uncle turned 40, we were like, ‘Tangina, ang tanda mo na. Grabe.’ Tapos tawanan kami kasi di kami makapaniwala parang joke talaga na sobrang tanda na niya.”
Now that he hit the five-decade mark, Chito admitted that he still felt that he’s still adulting. “Ngayon, 50 na ’ko. Honestly, feeling ko nasa college pa rin ako, trying my best to act like an adult... trying my best to eat healthy, to provide and take care of my family, and just trying my best to be responsible.”
Still, he maintained that he has no regrets as he looked back on how he has been living his life. “Actually, I don’t mind being old. Siguro dahil kuntento ako sa buhay. Wala akong regrets, at sobrang na-enjoy ko yung biyahe (kahit magulo minsan), kaya masaya ako kung nasaan ako ngayon.”

In the same post, Chito talked about his love for family and why he is grateful for all his blessings in life right now. A family man, Chito has found fulfillment in growing his family with wife Neri and their children Miggy, Cash, and Pia.
“I have a beautiful wife who takes care of me (na parang siya pa yung naka-jackpot sa akin ✌🏼😅), and I have three wonderful children na sobrang bait at nakakatawa (kahit minsan super kulit),” he said.
He also talked about being part of one of the most well-loved OPM bands in history. Earlier this year, Chito celebrated 30 years anniversary with Parokya ni Edgar, which he formed in 1993 along with his high school classmates Gab Chee Kee, Buwi Meneses, Darius Semaña, Dindin Moreno, and Vinci Montaner.
“I enjoy my job... partying with my childhood friends, nerds pretending to be rockstars, getting paid more than we deserve just to travel, have fun, and still have time to pick my kids up from school,” he continued.
Chito expressed gratitude for the blessing of being able to focus on things that truly matter. “I’m healthy and happy. Wala akong boss kundi si God at ang asawa ko, and I’m in a position in life where ang priority ko na lang ay ang kaligayahan, kalusugan, at kapakanan ng pamilya ko…and that makes everything in life super simple. Kaya for my birthday, wala na akong hihilingin pa. Cheers!!! 🍻”
In a previous post last month, Chito had already explained to his followers why he was never the type to aspire to be extremely wealthy or live a super flashy lifestyle and why he finds the ultimate contentment in a simple and balanced life.
“May nabasa ako recently na parang ’di ko kelangan at never ko hinangad maging super yaman na tipong Lamborghini driving kind of rich’...ok na ko as long as I get to bring and fetch my kids sa school, not worry about bills, nakakain namin yung mga trip namin kaninin, may free time ako magpaka-healthy na tipong pwede ako mag-gym ng Tuesday ng tanghali, masahaman ko asawa ko mag-S&R pag trip nya, tapos pabanda banda lang ako kasama ng tropa, masaya na ko sa ganung buhay...yun na yun,” he said.
