OPM band Cup of Joe has cancelled their highly-anticipated show in Qatar. In a statement made by VIVA Records and VIVA Live in the official account of the OPM band earlier this week, they cited the missing paperwork as the reason why the concert didn’t push through.

Cup of Joe was supposed to perform last February 14 at Qatar but was unable to do so due to the lack of required permits.

“This is to formally clarify that the proposed Cup of Joe show in Qatar will not proceed. While a written agreement was executed with the local event producer, the required government permits and regulatory approvals necessary to stage the event were not secured by the producer. In the absence of these mandatory approvals, the event cannot lawfully take place,” the statement shared.

VIVA Records and VIVA Live then shared that the reason why they’re releasing a statement is to prevent “further confusion and misinformation”, adding that they asked the local producer to release a public advisory about it but alleged “no communication has been released.”

They maintained that the band and the management didn’t receive any ticket proceeds and the requirements needed for them to perform in Qatar should’ve been done by the local event producer.

“Please be advised the Cup of Joe and its management have not received any ticket proceeds directly, nor have we authorized any promotion of the event without confirmed permits in place. All compliance requirements fall under the responsibility of the local event producer,” they maintained.

While they couldn’t perform in Qatar during their supposed show last February 14, Cup of Joe is hopeful that they will still get to visit the country soon and meet their supportive fans.

“We remain committed to delivering performances only under fully compliant and properly authorized arrangements to ensure the safety of our artists, team, and audience. We appreciate the continued support of our fans in Qatar and hope to visit under proper and approved circumstances in the future,” the statement ended.

Earlier this month, Gian made rounds on social media after cute selfies with Maris Racal surfaced. The Kapamilya actress posted the photos with the caption ‘Plot Twist’, to the surprise of the fans.

It was then revealed after a day of social media frenzy that he was set to star in the latest music video of the Kapamilya singer titled “Sino Ang Tanga”.
