MANILA -- It’s a week-long birthday celebration for Kapamilya heartthrob Donny Pangilinan as he turns 28.
First, Donny invited some of his closest friends in the biz to his house in Batangas. It was quite a drive to his resthouse, he admitted, but still guests came over to celebrate with him.
“We planned that matagal na, I’ve been wanting to host people sa bagong bahay ko doon sa Batangas. Medyo malayo siya, pero happy ako na nagconfirm yung iba. Umeffort.”

Second, Donny also celebrated his birthday with his ASAP family. But one of the best, if not the best, way to cap off the week long celebration, is his first Donato Cup. Donny has been playing golf for six years now and he has not stopped ever since.
“Golf is a sport that I really hate and really love. It teaches me a lot about life. When I started playing golf, I couldn’t stop. So I said, ito yung siguro pinaka the best way to celebrate my birthday with the people I love.”
He added, “At first gusto ko sana intimate cup lang siya, kasi 1st Donato Cup ko siya eh. But we didn’t even post about it yet, but people started inquiring and we now we have a maxed out club, it’s gonna be fun.”
Donny led the ceremonial tee off together with his sister Solana, uncle Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera and more celebrities showed up like Gab Valenciano, Cris Villanueva, Hyubs Azarcon, ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, and his family was also present - Anthony Pangilinan and Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan.
While having fun swinging their clubs on the grass, the event was also for a good cause.
“Usually pag birthday ko may ginagawa akong extra part of my advocacy, this is the perfect time to collaborate with MoveEd. It’s an organization that focuses on education for children ages 0 to 7 (years old), the early years when the brain is really developing.”

Currently, the actor has sponsored a number of scholars, and he added: “Sabi ko talaga, how can we not make this bigger. Kasi ang ganda ng ginagawa nila, yung team nila, it really comes from the heart, you can really see that they take care of the kids.”
Donny also dedicated and named his first golf event in honor of his late grandfather.
