Actress Kim Molina took to social media to share heartfelt farewell messages for her beloved grandfather, Ernesto, who passed away last December.
On her Instagram page, Kim expressed how deeply she will miss her grandfather, who had been a constant presence in her life since she was young.
“Though we said our last goodbyes today, I know you’ll always look after me like this from afar — the little girl you watch pose and sing on the table, on random afternoons. I love you, Grandpa. 🕊️,” Kim wrote, alongside a photo of herself with Grandpa Ernesto.
Although her family welcomed the New Year without him, Kim remained optimistic, believing that her grandfather would continue watching over her from above.
“This may have been the most painful NYE, but as you raised me to be the strong woman that I am now, I will continue on, with you looking after me from heaven. Happy New Year, Grandpa (heart emoji),” Kim said.
Kim also took time to thank everyone who sent messages of comfort during this difficult period. “Thank you everyone for your kind words and messages. I can't reply to all of you but my family and I are grateful for the love and prayers. Welcoming 2026 with peace and warmth. HNY (sparkle emoji).”
On New Year’s Eve day, Kim first announced her grandfather’s passing through a deeply personal post, recalling how he had always been present throughout her childhood.
“You guided me through my homework. You would pick me up from school. You taught me how to speak the way I do. And would take me on bookstore dates and get me books with no pictures cause you would always tell me to use my imagination. I had a little makeshift office next to yours cause you said I was your secretary. You introduced me to classical music. And we would listen to Bach while I wait for you to finish cooking steak and eggs for me,” she recalled.
Kim also described her grandfather as her constant protector and biggest supporter: “Ikaw kakampi ko pag napapagalitan ako. Ikaw nagsasabit ng medal ko when my parents were not around. Kahit memorize ko number mo, you were my number 1 speed dial when I got my 1st phone.”
Looking back on her milestones, Kim honored her grandfather for always being there to celebrate her victories.
“You were always present in every milestone. Graduation, school and singing competitions, and even in my 1st pro musical, you and Grandma were in the audience, rooting for that tiny ensemble girly jumping around the stage,” she added.
With another major milestone ahead — her upcoming wedding to longtime partner Jerald Napoles, Kim admitted how painful it was that her grandfather would not be physically present, but she remained comforted knowing he will always be watching over her.
“Ikakasal pa ko Grandpa…. onti nalang eh… but as it pains me to see you hurting, I know now that you’ll always be up there, looking after me. Nakabantay pag hindi ko ma flush ang toilet… Thank you for everything, Grandpa. I love you forever. Always, Grandpa’s little girl,” she said.
In a previous interview on Magandang Buhay, Kim expressed her gratitude for the unwavering support and love her grandfather gave her throughout her life.
“Ito pong si Grandpa, sobrang supportive ito kahit noong umpisa nagtampo ito kasi hindi natuloy yung pagdodoctor ko,” she said. “Dream namin kasi ayon together noong bata ako. Dream din namin together na kapag siya tumanda ng tumanda, ako ang mag-a-alaga sa kaniya. (Kahit hindi natuloy) I still take care of him.”
