Reports have circulated that John Lloyd Cruz and Robi Domingo had a tense moment during the reception of Zanjoe Marudo and Ria Atayde's church wedding last December 22. Both were invited guests to the intimate gathering, with Domingo as the host during the reception dinner.

In his vlog, veteran showbiz host Ogie Diaz reported this item, which, according to him, was told by his source. Allegedly, Cruz was offended when Domingo asked Marudo on how does he feel being "Mr. Atayde." It was his follow-up question after asking the bride how she feels being 'Mrs. Marudo'. Diaz added that the tension happened at the bar with other celebrities witnessing Cruz approach Domingo about the host's question.

A source told ABS-CBN News that the confrontation happened during the afterparty and "it was quite a scene." Cruz, allegedly, raised his voice towards Domingo. Guests heard them and some even had to intervene to de-escalate the tension.

Our source added that the couple wasn't offended with Domingo's question to Marudo and didn't make a big fuss out of it

ABS-CBN News caught up with Ria Atayde in one of the special screenings of her MMFF entry "I'mPerfect." When asked about the reported confrontation, she said: "If something happened between them, they kept it away from me. It wasn't something that disrupted the event or anything, it went very smoothly. It was a beautiful night."

The showbiz couple also appreciated their guests' cooperation in keeping the event private, and their phones grounded.

"It was what we wanted from the start. It was non-negotiable to have a party like that. Sometime you watch SDE (same day edit videos), and you see everybody's phones are up. Iba kasi 'yung feeling na you're all there enjoying the moment," Atayde said.

She added, "Our wedding was intimate it had our friends and families, were so grateful that they all showed up for us. It was just a nice celebration of our love, a nice celebration of everyone who has been a part of our story as a couple."

ABS-CBN News has reached out to Domingo and Cruz, and has yet to receive their statements.
