Ryan Bang recently shared heartwarming snapshots from the holidays he spent with his parents in Seoul, South Korea.
In an Instagram post, the It's Showtime host wrote: "Year end with my parents 🤎."
Ryan posted a series of photos that showed him enjoying a meal with his father and spending quality time with his mom.
Netizens were quick to react to Ryan's post.
"Happy New Year to you and your family!" one fan commented.
"Moments like this are the best," another fan wrote.
Back in November 2025, Ryan gave his fans a look inside the condominium he bought for his mother in South Korea.
In a YouTube vlog, the Kapamilya host visited his mom and walked the viewers through the unit.
"Nandito ako ngayon sa Korea. Ipapakita ko sa inyo, condo tour. Nagbigay ako ng condo sa nanay ko. Nandiyan siya sa loob," he said. "I-tour ko kayo kung ano hitsura ng condo dito sa Korea kaya samahan niyo ako today. Let's go."
Ryan shared that he also stays in the unit whenever he visits Korea. "For the first time, ipapakita ko po sa inyo ang condo namin sa Korea kung saan ako [nagsti-stay] tuwing andito ako. Kaya samahan niyo ako libutin at mag-reminisce while I spend time with my mom," he remarked.
He then toured the living room, kitchen, dining area, bedrooms, and the balcony saying the space is just right for his mom. "Small but mag-isa lang naman ang nanay ko dito so super cute and happy," he stated.
Back in April 2024, Ryan opened up about his difficult childhood in Korea. In an interview with Karen Davila, Ryan shared that his family used to live a comfortable life before experiencing financial struggles.
"Pinanganak po ako na okay na okay. Daddy ko po meron siyang tatlong bilyaran. Billiard player po ang daddy ko. Champion siya, meron siya maraming awards. Ang mommy ko po hindi siya nagtatrabaho kasi malaking kita naman daddy ko so super meron po kami bahay, pinapaaral nila ako golf, horseback riding, meron po kami kabayo nun," he shared.
But when the 1997 Asian financial crisis happened, his dad's business was very much affected. "Tapos 7 years old ako meron kami [sa] Korea International Monetary Fund [crisis], bumagsak so walang naglalaro ng billiard," Ryan said.
Following the downfall of his dad's business, Ryan recalled how his parents started to argue about money matters often.
"So nag-divorce po sila so nung naghiwalay sila, grade 4 ako kasi sobrang ganda ng bahay tapos lumipat kami condo two-bedroom, tapos lumipat kami one-bedroom and then lumipat kami sa second floor na maliit na condo one room, wala kaming kwarto, studio," Ryan relayed.
The Kapamilya host shared that he chose to stay with his mother after his parents got divorced.
"Grade 4 [ako], grabe 'yung trabaho [ni mommy] nung bata pa ako. Marami po siyang work sa insurance, naghugas pinggan siya sa octopus restaurant," he shared.
When Ryan was in Grade 7, his mom was having a hard time sustaining their cost of living and decided to send him to the Philippines.
"'Yung best friend niya, nung medyo may kaya pa ang mommy ko tinulungan pala ng mommy ko 'yung kaibigan niya tapos 'yung kaibigan niya may negosyo dito, yumaman dahil sa pera ng mommy ko so nag-favor 'yung mommy ko, 'Pwede [diyan] muna tumira ang anak ko?' Kaibigan ng mommy ko may asawa pero walang anak so parang inampon nila ako," Ryan relayed.
Now, Ryan is a successful television host of It's Showtime and also an entrepreneur. He opened a new restaurant called Paldo Korean Fine Dining Restaurant in Quezon City last year.
