Hyun Bin opened up about his life as a father. In an interview with CNN, the actor said he embraces a simple, hands-on approach whenever he is not working.
"When I don't have a schedule or when I'm not on a shoot, I follow the baby's schedule and go to playground, dine out and go to kids' cafe," he relayed. "It's really the same as any other dad."
During the same interview, Bin also explained why he chooses to stay away from social media and keep his personal life private.
"I wanted to distinguish personal and professional life. And I also prefer showing myself to the audience only though projects. It could be good appearing here and there and publicizing various things about me, but I do question if the public would still be curious about me if that repeats. So, I try to draw the line and control this exposure, because I believe that doing so would positively impact the audience watching my work," the Made in Korea star said.
Bin and his wife, Son Ye-jin, welcomed their baby boy in November 2022.The couple tied the knot in March 2022.
In a separate interview on the web variety show Fairy Jae-hyung, Hyun Bin shared how their love story began.
The actor recalled that they first worked together in the film The Negotiation, though they had limited interaction at the time. "We barely filmed together. Although we shot on the same days, we were in different locations. Aside from running into each other during meals or while monitoring, there wasn’t much interaction,” he shared.
He went on: "As an actor, I felt that was a bit disappointing. I vaguely hoped we’d meet again in a different genre, and that ended up being Crash Landing on You."
When they reunited for the hit drama, their bond naturally grew deeper. "We're about the same age and started our careers around the same time. Our journeys so far have been somewhat similar, so our conversations flowed very naturally," Bin stated.
Asked when he realized he had fallen in love with Ye-jin, Bin said there was no single defining moment.
"There wasn't a specific moment. It felt like time just passed and I gradually fell for her, like water seeping in. As we worked together and talked, it just happened naturally, as if my clothes slowly got soaked," he stated.
