It’s been almost six years since Gerald Anderson opened his first resort business Hayati Private Beach Resort in Botolan, Zambales. Now, the actor and entrepreneur revealed to PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview that he has more in store this year.

Prior to opening a resort, Gerald opened his own fitness center called The Th3rd Floor Gym in 2019. This was followed by the Hayati resort in 2020 which he expanded with the Hayati River Kamp site in 2022.

The actor-producer admitted he feels it is the right time to finally open his second resort this year. “Sa Zambales pa rin siya. Sana before summer ma-open ko siya and ma-invite ko kayo. I have two gyms right now and then next year madadagdagan pa yan. I’m very blessed and very privileged,” he told PUSH ABS-CBN.

Balancing his roles on and offscreen as an actor and businessman, Gerald said that having a strong support system is the key to his success. “You have to build a team around you eh. Kasi habang busy ako dito, gumagalaw pa din yung mga negosyo ko outside of the business. I’ve been very blessed to be able to have this sense of focus and determination and perseverance through challenges. I build a team around me na marunong sa mga bagay bagay and mas magaling sa akin. I’m just the tip of the sphere. Ako yung nag-li-lead and I present my vision and my goals and the team around me helps me build it everyday,” he added.

After starring in the series Sins of the Father last year and producing the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Rekonek, Gerald said he is proud of his body of work and looks forward to his next action-themed series which partners him onscreen for the first time with Richard Gutierrez.

“Sa mga projects ko like Sins of the Father, laging yung social awareness yung hinahanap ko pag gumagawa ako ng proyekto. I don’t believe in just doing a story. Kailangan may napupulot yung audience natin. And ang masasabi ko lang, I know there’s going to be mga bagay sa show na ito na everyone can relate to. And siyempre, on a deeper relationship level, meron din kami. But it’s going to be a challenge kasi malapit na ito eh (laughs),” he explained.

With all the things has has going on his life right now, Gerald admitted that his love for basketball has had to take a backseat.

"Wala, yun yung nawala talaga. Basketball yung nawala talaga. Last year during Sins of the Father, when pina-direct na rin ako and we’re doing the action scenes and I’m also choreographing the action scenes, I’m doing this, I’m producing, sabi ko, ‘Ah, I think ito yung araw na dumating na matagal kong pinu-push away. Pero dumating na, na basketball is going to take a backseat na,” he shared.

As a director, Gerald said he would rather lead by example, more than anything else. “Hindi ko naman dinidikta or sinasabi kung ano ang dapat. I just try to lead by example. Pinapakita ko na I try to be as professional as possible tapos sana sumunod na lang lahat,” he added.
