Pilots and content creators Chezka Carandang and Claire Inso ended their relationship and called off their engagement after eight years of being together.
On December 31, Chezka shared the news through an Instagram post showing a montage of videos where they were seen traveling to different destinations around the world. The video, featuring Coldplay’s “Fix You,” reflected moments from their time together before transitioning about their decision to separate.
In her post, Chezka reflected on endings and personal growth.
“Not every connection is meant to last forever, and an ending is not a failure. Sometimes, it’s a sign of growth and completion. Sometimes, it is a sign of beauty. Sometimes, it is a sign of the truest love of all—the willingness to let someone chase the life that’s calling to them,” she began.
She went on to confirm that the engagement would no longer push through and that they will go on their separate ways, sharing that the decision was mutual.
“After much reflection, I had to put off the engagement and we’ve mutually decided to go our separate ways. We’re grateful for what we shared and kindly ask for privacy as we move forward individually. 🙏,” she wrote.
Chezka also took a moment to acknowledge the people who had supported them over the years, adding, “We also want to thank our followers for the support and love you’ve shown us over the past years. It has truly meant so much to us. ✨”
Chezka did not disclose the reason behind their breakup, but the announcement quickly drew reactions from friends and followers.
Actress Barbie Imperial expressed shock in the comments, writing, “NOOOOOO WTFFFFFF 💔💔😭😭.”
“Yakap mahigpit!!! Grabe yung love mo @chezkacarandang hanggang dulo may pag gawa pa ng reel and pag protect kay Claire. Wishing you a healing 2026! 🙏🏻,” a supporter shared.
In a follow-up post, Chezka shared a more personal moment, uploading a video of herself crying after they went their separate ways. Alongside the clip, she wrote, “One of the hardest decisions is walking away from a relationship when there’s still so much love for the person, choosing what’s right even when it hurts 🥹.”
Chezka and Claire are former beauty queens. Chezka was a candidate in Miss Earth Philippines 2015 while Claire joined as a candidate for Miss Universe Philippines 2023.
After their pageant stint, both of them entered the aviation field while strengthening their social media presence. Chezka is a commercial pilot, later recognized as a Woman of Influence awardee by Cosmopolitan Philippines for her advocacy within the LGBTQIA+ community and thriving influence in the male-dominated field, while Claire is a private pilot and a model for multiple brands.
Before their breakup, the former couple had been thrilling fans by sharing their journey in the aviation field as well as their life as a couple.
The two became a couple in 2017 and later took their relationship to the next level when they got engaged in August 2024 during a trip to Tanzania, Africa.
As of this writing, Claire has yet to publicly share her own statement regarding the breakup.
