Social media influencer Viy Cortez broke her silence on social media after she joined the Trillion Peso March alongside her husband, Cong TV, last September 21. On her official Facebook account, the content creator admitted that she and her partner were scared to speak out at first due to the backlash they may get from netizens.

The two content creators were spotted in the September 21 protests against corruption, to the surprise of netizens. They were one of the many celebrities and social media influencers that joined the rally which had over thousands in attendance.

Viy shared in her post how she chose not to be quiet any longer as it only supports the corrupt officials and the corruption that’s been happening in the country.

The content creator added that she will be taking all the negativity and bashings that the netizens will do as she knows that she will be using her platform for the better. She also cursed out the corrupt officials in the same post.

No. Okay lang murahin nyo ako magalit kayo. Habang nag aaway tayo ngayon, nandun sila nakain pa ata ng steak,” she continued in the comment section.

Fans and netizens of Viy shared their opinion in the comment section of her post. Others expressed how happy they are that she’s finally using her platform to educate what’s been happening in the country.

“But if this post is at least the tiniest hint that they've now come to realize how they've supported the wrong people back then, personally, I would rather they use their voices now for the good fight. We want people to do better now eh. Kung namumulat na sila, then let's welcome them,” a netizen shared.

“I don’t agree with the people they endorsed before, I’m hoping by now they know that already. But let’s be real: posting against corruption shows they’ve swallowed their pride and chosen to use their voice. This fight is bigger than ego. It’s about standing up against corrupt officials,” another netizen added.

In a separate post, Cong TV asserted their right to speak out against the corrupt officials as they are also mad at what’s happening in the country. He pointed out that despite the differences in who they supported in the previous elections, they are also Filipinos being robbed.

Mas nakakahiyang manahimik kesa hindi bumoses,” he wrote.
