A fews days shy of celebrating her 6th anniversary as a vlogger, Ivana Alawi’s social media reach has only continued to grow bigger and stronger as she maintains her status as one of the country’s top YouTubers. Apart from working on her vlog channel, the 28-year-old Fil-Moroccan beauty is also gearing up for the Metro Manila Film Festival after she was announced as part of the cast of the horror film Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Evil Origins.
In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Ivana admitted that even with all this success, she still experiences feeling burned out when things get too hectic. “Na-bu-burn out talaga ako. Pero I just enjoy it, kung ano na lang yung mga contents na ginagawa ko kasi lahat talaga ako pa rin. I tried looking for a team pero wala talaga. Kasi iba talaga pag may personal touch. Kasi you really create the content and all. Pero na-bu-burn out po talaga ako,” she said.

For those who go through the same thing as her, Ivana shared what she likes to do for herself when she is feeling overwhelmed and burnt out. “Pag na-bu-burn out ako, nag-ta-travel ako. Pag nag-ri-reset ka, huwag mong pilitin kasi kung di mo kaya isipin, huwag mo ng ipilit. Kasi papangit lang yung kakalabasan. So just enjoy what you’re doing and yun na yun.”

As a successful vlogger, Ivana also shared the best advice she has for those who aspire to go down the same career path. “First of all, huwag mo gawin dahil sa pera. Don’t do it for money. If you’re doing it for the money, if gusto mo kumita ng malaki, mahirap. Kasi you should do it because you love it. And you should have a purpose. Bakit? Gusto mo mang-inspire? Gusto mo mag-share ng buhay mo? So, focus on yourself and huwag mong gayahin yung ibang tao,” she stressed.

Contrary to what some people might assume, Ivana said she does not always wake up feeling beautiful. She talked about how she deals with her ‘losyang’ days.
“Oo naman! Hindi naman pag gising ko gandang ganda ako sa sarili. Kasi pag sa bahay, no makeup, sando, ganyan. I get that, of course. And it’s normal. Kung gandang ganda ka sa sarili mo paggising mo, bongga ka (laughs). We all have imperfections. We just have to embrace it and love ourselves. Kasi pag minahal mo ang sarili mo, there is nothing else. Kahit i-bash ka ng mga tao, deadma,” she explained.
