Actress-comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto has once again appealed to the public to avoid spreading unverified information about her husband Trevor Magallanes’s recent passing.
“As we cautiously navigate through this emotionally difficult period in our lives, we would appreciate discretion from everyone,” Rufa Mae wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday, Aug. 2.
Rufa Mae extended a message to those who are taking advantage of the current situation for the sake of “content.”
“Nakikiusap ako na huwag naman po ninyong gamitin ang pangyayaring ito para magkaroon lamang kayo ng ‘content,’” she appealed.

The actress-comedienne emphasized that the information about Trevor’s death will be relayed at the right time.
“As the wife of Trev, all information surrounding his passing will come from me. Ang lahat ng detalye ay maaari ko lang maibigay sa tamang oras,” she said.
Concerned about the welfare of her eight-year-old daughter, she appealed: “For the sake of our daughter, Athena, please refrain from spreading unverified information that she can access through social media.
Meanwhile, Rufa Mae extended her gratitude to the people who have expressed their sympathies during this challenging time.
“Maraming Salamat sa lahat ng nagpadala ng mensahe ng pakikiramay,” she expressed.
She concluded her post with a humble request, saying: “Let us just remember the good times that we had with my husband, Trev.”
This is not the first time she has asked the public of the same appeal, as she also did in her previous statement.
“We are still gathering factual information about his death. Even us or his immediate family are still verifying what happened. So, we kindly ask his friends or anyone to stop spreading fake news or mere speculations about his death,” said Rufa Mae in an Instagram post, addressing rumors about the cause of Trevor’s death.
A relative of the actress confirmed with ABS-CBN News that Rufa Mae’s US-based husband passed away earlier this week.
Rufa and Trevor tied the knot in 2016 in Quezon City. They welcomed their only daughter, Athena, the following year.
In 2024, Trevor announced on Instagram that they were in the process of divorce, but Rufa clarified in an interview that none of them had filed for divorce.

“Yung legalities, walang file ng divorce, walang nag file,” she said. “Hindi ako mag-fi-file kasi andami ko ng file sa kaso. Ayoko muna mag-file sa divorce kasi dito rin naman kami kinasal sa Pilipinas. ‘Di ko na rin alam ano gagawin masyadong masakit pa. May anak din kami."
