Jessy Mendiola shared that her husband, Luis Manzano, has been fully supportive of her decision to return to acting.
"Napag-usapan namin ater ng elections, after ng campaign, babalik ako sa trabaho and siya naman one hundred percent support siya," she relayed in an interview with Bernadette Sembrano for her latest YouTube vlog.
The actress recounted the advice she received from Luis when she decided to return to work. "Basta sinasabi niya sa akin, 'Basta masaya ka, iyon lang 'yung importante.' Sabi niya, 'Kung may gagawin kang isang bagay dapat isigurado mo na masaya ka. Hindi 'yung malungkot ka or napipilitan ka,'" she recalled.
Jessy said that in their relationship, they make it a point to value each other’s opinions, a practice she believes is important for couples.
"You have to value kung ano 'yung opinion ng partner mo," she highlighted. "Kunwari 'yung decision niyang tumakbo [sa election], talagang importante 'yun na malaman niya kung ano 'yung feelings ko about it. Tapos ako naman 'yung pagbabalik ko sa showbiz, importante din na malaman ko kung anong mararamamdaman niya kasi siyempre mas gusto rin naman namin na tutok din ako kay Rosie, sa anak namin, sa pamilya namin."
Now that she has returned to showbiz, Jessy said she’s making sure to maintain a healthy work-life balance so she can still spend quality time with their daughter Rosie and with Luis.
"Nabibigyan ko rin naman talaga ng oras. One at a time 'yung work namin ngayon and it's really important for us to find time for each other, for our family," she said. "We find time for our little family and for me kasi naraanasan ko na dati na puro work-work-work. Ngayon importante talaga na may work-life balance ka. Work-life-family kasi tatlo 'yan eh for me."
In the same interview, Jessy shared how motherhood transformed her. "Talagang gagawin mo talaga lahat para sa anak mo. Akala mo 'pagka kinasal ka kumpleto ka na, pero mas magiging... parang overflowing talaga 'yung love 'pag naging nanay ka. I mean for me, personally," the actress relayed.
Luis and Jessy welcomed Rosie in December 2022.
