In the highly competitive showbiz world, real and genuine friendships are rare and elusive, but Jason Dy was fortunate enough to find his tribe.
For Jason, his fellow musicians Yeng Constantino, Kyla Alvarez, KZ Tandingan, and TJ Monterde are more than just colleagues — they are true friends.
In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the singer-songwriter revealed how their friendship has evolved after a work-related trip abroad.
“‘Yung mga barkada ko, sila KZ, Yeng,TJ, ate Kyla — we really bonded during our US Tour," he said. "We really got to know each other. Makikilala mo talaga ‘yung mga kaibigan mo 'pag nag-travel na kayo. Our bond really got stronger over there."
Jason painted a picture of their bond behind the camera, highlighting the interests that they have in common.
“We just like to laugh," he said. "We like to eat. We like to travel; we like to go around (and) see places. We love [making] music. We love to sing. Tawanan lang kami talaga. Gawa kami ng TikTok. We have the same sense of humor."
But what he is most proud of is the sense of support that is fostered in their group.
“Suportahan kami. There’s really no sense of competition among us. We support each other and we truly love each other,” he said.
In the same interview, Jason underscored the importance of finding the right support system, especially in that he is in.
“It's very important talaga that you find your crew; you find your tribe kasi no man is an island. You really need people [who will] support and help you,” he said.

Speaking of support, Yeng and KZ put their trust in Jason as they produced his 10th anniversary concert SoliDYfied.
Jason admitted that he was skeptical at first, but their willingness to take a risk fueled him to work hard for the concert.
“Hindi ako makapaniwala na gagawin nila ‘yun for me,” he said. “Sabi ko nga ‘diba dapat unahin niyo muna ‘yung sarili niyo? Pero ganun ‘yung love nila for me and my love for them (as well). Parang grabe napa-question pa ako ‘deserve ko ba ‘to? Baka ma-let down ko kayo.’ They really believed in me. I didn’t want to let them down, so I really wanted to do my best.”
Inspired by Yeng and KZ who ventured into concert production for the first time, he told reporters in a separate interview that he is looking forward to doing the same thing for his friends in the future.
