Actress and content creator Danica Ontengco treasures her friendship with Andrea Brillantes and Bea Borres, saying they treat each other as “sisters.”
The toxic friendship between their characters in the 2018 hit television drama series Kadenang Ginto is the opposite of what they have in the real world.
“We’re like sisters. We’ll really be there for each other when we are available,” she told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview.
Danica admitted that their friendship had a slow start, but she’s grateful it evolved into something that’s genuine.
"it’s really hard to find true friends here in the industry," she said. "But with them, our friendship didn’t start agad-agad. Mas late naming na-realize na we’re really genuine to each other and we’re really close to each other, and we bond really well. Sa dami ng beses na nagsasama kami, nakikita namin, saka lang namin na na-realize na we’re really true friends.”
Despite their busy schedules, Danica emphasized that keeping in touch with each other is not a problem for them.
“We always talk to each other through phone. We always check up on each other, so it’s not that hard naman,” she said.
Given the opportunity, Danica would love to explore the comedy genre with Andrea and Bea in the future.
“Siguro comedy para fun,” she said. “Well kasi Kadenang Ginto is more drama diba? And ‘yung role ko dun parang inaaway ko sila. This time, I want [something] more fun and para lang malabas talaga ‘yung kulit namin in person.”
The trio also shares beauty tips with each other, according to Danica.
“Randomly we text each other or mostly sila, they send their photos. We compliment each other and ask ‘what did you use? Kasi ang ganda mo.’”

Danica, who has long been a YouTuber before getting her first taste of acting, keeps herself busy with content creation.
Bea, who is also a content creator, was featured in her latest vlog dated July 10, wherein they explored Los Angeles, USA together.
In January, Danica and Bea reunited with Andrea at the concert of Cigarettes After Sex in Manila, as seen on her January 23 vlog.
