MANILA -- Comedy superstar Vice Ganda admitted that the 12-day suspension of "It 's Showtime" in 2023 took a toll on her and partner Ion Perez's mental health.

In the latest episode of the podcast KC's After Hour hosted by broadcaster Karmina Constantino, Vice shared that they are undergoing counselling because of what happened.

"Nagte-therapy kasi kami. We regularly see a psychiatrist. Kasi ang dami naming pinagdaanan na pagsubok together, issues," said Vice, who admitted that the idea to seek counsel was her idea.

Tapos nagmukha kaming kriminal, tapos nagkaroon kami ng criminal case because of that," the "It's Showtime" host said.

"Anong mali sa pagmamahalan natin? Anong mali? So ang dami -- epekto ng pandemya, 'yung prangkisa. So nangarag kami. So nagte-therapy kami. 'I asked him to write a prayer at 'yung dasal niya puro sa iyo," said Vice who turned emotional as she shared how the therapist told him how Perez felt guilty because of what happened to them and the show.

"Kasi feeling niya kaya nangangarag ang career ko at 'It's Showtime' because of him. And even the people closest to us kitang-kita nila 'yon. The people who really know us sinasabi 'grabe ang pagmamahal sa iyo ni Ion,'" Vice added.

It will be recalled that "It's Showtime" served its 12-day suspension in October 2023 to comply with the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) ruling because of what it considered a violation.

Despite this, Vice stressed that she deserves Perez, whom she married in Las Vegas in 2021

"I super deserve this love now, I super deserve this person now, I super deserve Ion now because I have been giving so much love to people, I have given so much love to men. I have sincerely given myself to a lot of people, ang sarap ding makatanggap," Vice said.

Vice first confirmed his relationship with Perez in October 2019 after a "Magpasikat" performance on "It's Showtime.

Perez joined “It’s Showtime” initially as Kuya Escort in the noontime show's Miss Q&A segment.
