Former It’s Showtime host Eric "Eruption” Tai took to social media to share his and his wife Rona’s inspiring weight-loss journey in celebration of their 10th wedding anniversary.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Eruption revealed that instead of celebrating with the usual fancy dinners or out-of-town trips, he and Rona chose a different path, focusing on health, discipline, and long-term well-being.
“🎉 Happy 10th wedding anniversary and with that we both lost over 90 LBS together so far! 🤯,” Eruption first wrote.
The couple made a conscious decision to invest in a healthier future together, setting aside grand celebrations for a more meaningful commitment.
“Instead of celebrating with big trips, fancy lunches, or dinner dates, Rona and I made a different kind of commitment: to prioritize not just our love for each other, but our health, longevity, and spiritual well-being,” Eruption shared.
He added that they began this journey at the start of the year, sacrificing usual getaways and special occasions to build a lifestyle focused on wellness and faith.
“We’ve sacrificed the usual out of town getaways and celebrations since the start of the year, and chose to invest in something more lasting a healthier, stronger future together.”
Eruption also detailed the lifestyle changes and routines that helped them achieve their goals.
“We fasted to discipline and heal our bodies + to sharpen our minds. We ate cleaner and more nutritious meals to fuel our days. Focused on cardio and weight training to build strength and endurance. Took supplements and prioritized sleep for long-term vitality. And most importantly, grew together spiritually, keeping God at the center of our relationship with our regular scripture study and Book of Mormon reading,” he listed.
He emphasized that true love isn’t just expressed in material gestures but in shared values and commitment.
“Because real love doesn’t just show up in flowers and dinners or even socmed posts, it shows up in discipline, sacrifice, and the shared desire to grow (young) together, healthy and strong in body, mind, and spirit. 🙏🏽,” he stated.
Ending his post, Eruption sent a loving message to his wife as they continue to pursue living a healthy lifestyle.
“So here’s to 10 years of love and a lifetime of purpose-driven partnership Peh Rona ♥️ I’ve got your back no matter how big, chubby, skinny, injured or damaged we are! For all time and eternity na yan, alam mo yan! 💍🔥,” he expressed.

Eric and Rona started dating in 2012 and tied the knot in 2015. They joined The Amazing Race Asia Season 5 as a couple in 2016. In 2018, they announced they were expecting a baby boy through in vitro fertilization and welcomed their son Legend in 2019.

In a past interview, Eruption expressed how his love for Rona continues to grow deeper with time.
“As for my love for the kumander, the fire of love keeps burning and will continue to evolve unconditionally. She knows what’s up. In the end, it all trickles down to your own family bond, eternal happiness and your relationship with the mighty Man upstairs,” he expressed.
