Charo Santos took to social media on Sunday, June 15, to honor two important men in her life — her father, Winifredo Santos, and her husband, Rafael Concio Jr. — in a heartfelt Father's Day tribute.
In her post, Charo reflected on the values her late father instilled in her while growing up. "Character. Compassion. Courage. 💫 Dad didn’t just teach us values, he lived them. His life was his message, and what a beautiful message it was. Thank you for showing us how to live with purpose. It made all the difference. We miss you, we love you. Happy Father’s Day, Dad," she wrote.
In the video accompanying her post, Charo recalled her father as a man of integrity and humility. "My father was a very simple person. It takes so little to make him happy. You enjoy some little comforts, okay na yun sa kanya. Ang importante you live a life of integrity, of honesty, that you are true to your word. Nothing else that can replace hard work for success," she said.
The actress went on to recount how her father chose a path of public service as a surgeon dedicated to the marginalized. "He didn't look at his profession in the medical field because he was a general surgeon as just a job, as just a means of livelihood to feed us, his family. To him it was a vocation. He really wanted to serve his community that's why he chose to work for government. He really wanted to serve the poor," she shared.
The Only We Know star also paid tribute to her late husband, Cesar, for being a devoted father to their children. "Today, I also remember my beloved Cesar, thank you for being a gentle, devoted father to our sons. You led our family with quiet grace and a steady, loving heart," she stated.
Charo went on to express how Cesar’s love and guidance continue to live on through their sons, Francis and Martin, who are now fathers themselves.
"Your love lives on in Francis and Martin—who are now wonderful fathers themselves—and in the home we built together."
The actress concluded her post with a message to all fathers, saying: "To the fathers in my life, and to all the amazing dads out there, Happy Father’s Day. Keep leading with love."
