Actress-turned-entrepreneur Kiray Celis surprised her mother, Meriam Celis, with a brand-new car as a gift for her birthday and Mother’s Day.
Kiray documented the surprise on her Instagram page. In the video, Kiray initially told her mom they were heading out for a casual dinner.
"Ngayon nasa car kami, it's 7 p.m. Niyaya ko bigla si mama for dinner... Biglaang dinner lang, gusto ko lang mag-vlog kasi matagal ko na ring hindi nakaka-dinner si mama kasi panay work ako and all," she said. "Pero may kapalit, magdi-dinner tayo sa masarap na masarap at favorite na favorite mo."
Upon arriving at the car dealership, the actress blindfolded her mom. When the blindfold was removed, a brand-new car stood waiting for her.
"Thank you Kiray... Salamat talaga kasi tinupad mo 'yung matagal na pangarap na namin ni papa mo," Meriam said.
Kiray explained her motivation behind the generous gift. "Itong surprise ko, ma, Mother's Day, birthday gift ko dahil 60 years old ka na. Senior ka na, naisip ko rin si papa na senior, parehas na silang senior and deserve nila 'to para mas komportable kami and alam mo ang pinakamahalaga talaga dito, kasama ang buong pamangkin."
Kiray credited her ability to purchase the new car to the success of her growing businesses.
This act of kindness is not the first time Kiray has shown her appreciation for her mother. Back in April 2023, she gifted her mother with ₱1 million.
"Isang milyong regalo sa birthday ng aking ina.. kulang pa yan sa pagmamahal, pagaalaga at pagaasikaso mo sakin," Kiray said in an Instagram post in 2023.
"[Akala] ko [June] ko pa mabibigay sayo. Pero nabuo ko na ng maaga. Worth it lahat ng pagod at paos ko sa lahat ng trabaho ko."

Kiray then shared inspiring words for breadwinners like her.
"[Kapag] napagod.. magpahinga lang tapos tuloy ulit! Para maibigay lahat at makatulong sa pamilya natin," she said. "Maliit man o malaki, basta galing sa puso ang tulong mo.. naappreciate yan ng mga magulang niyo. Mabuhay lahat ng breadwinner na anak sa mundo!"
