Inigo Pascual shared his thoughts on being compared to his father, Piolo Pascual, saying he does not see it as a challenge to overcome.
"Para sa akin hindi ko siya maitatanggal sa buhay ko, sa pagkatao ko, kung sino ako, kasi wala naman ako sa mundong 'to kung walayung tatay ko, magulang ko. Para sa akin hindi siya obstacle, hindi siya problema, kasi wala naman ako dito sa industriyang 'to kung wala rin naman 'yung tatay ko," he said in an interview with Boy Abunda.
Rather than feeling pressured by the constant comparisons, Inigo expressed that he is honored to have Piolo as his dad. "Para sa akin, it's an honor to be compared to my dad. It's an honor that for some reason, I don't know if I will be able to live up to it, but to be even compared to Papa P, isang karangalan 'yun."
He also shared that he proudly talks about his father's youthful appearance to his friends. "Sa mga kaibigan ko, ipinagmamalaki ko pa si papa, na parang ito 'yung tatay ko. Can you believe it? This is my dad. He looks like my older brother."
In the same interview, Inigo was asked about his future plans and whether he sees himself staying in the U.S. or returning to the Philippines full-time.
"Right now, I am going through a phase wherein I took my time in the States but I'm deciding to come back here to really make sure that I get to do as much projects that I can here in the Philippines. Dito pa rin 'yung buhay ko, dito ako ipinanganak. I'm not gonna leave but also at the same time, whatever opportunity that I can take in the States, I will grab it."
Inigo previously starred in the Hollywood series Monarch.
Looking back on his experience working on the series, Inigo shared what he felt on his first day on set.
"I was nervous, sobrang kinakabahan ako going into it. Sa States kasi hindi katulad sa Pilipinas na pwede ka magdala ng road manager mo or ng handler mo. Susunduin ka pero ikaw lang talaga pupunta sa set and siyempre first experience ko 'yun" he said recounted.
Inigo praised the warmth and kindness of the cast and crew, saying, "Everyone was so nice as in kung ano 'yung parang pamilya na treatment natin dito ganun din dun."
