Barbie Hsu's ashes arrived in Taiwan from Japan on Wednesday, February 5.
The family of the late Meteor Garden star issued a statement after her ashes returned to Taiwan.
As per report by CNA Lifestyle, the statement read: "Thank you to all media friends for waiting for Shi-yuan (Barbie's real name) to come back in such cold weather. She has arrived home safely. She is believed to be happy and worry-free now in heaven."
The family of the actress decided not to hold a memorial service.
"We will not organize a farewell ceremony for her as she has always been a low-key person. If you miss her, please keep it in your heart! Our whole family is grateful for your love for Shi-yuan," the statement added.
Barbie tragically passed away at the age of 48 from pneumonia as confirmed by her sister, Dee Hsu, on February 3 via her manager to the Taiwanese media.
Barbie's husband, Koo Jun Yup, took to social media to express his grief following the passing of his wife.
"On Feb. 2, 2025, my angel returned to heaven. I want to express my gratitude to everyone mourning Hsu," he wrote as translated by Korea Times. "Right now, I am going through indescribable sorrow and suffering, feeling a gut-wrenching pain."
Jun Yup described the time he spent with Barbie as "an irreplaceable and priceless gift."
He highlighted: "I believe that protecting the family she loved most is the last thing I can do for her."
Barbie rose to international prominence when she headlined the 2001 Taiwanese series Meteor Garden as Shan Cai.
The series a Taiwanese adaptation of the Japanese comic series Hana Yori Dango. The series follows the story of a working class girl, Shan Cai, and her entanglement with a group of rich and influential students known as the "F4" (Flower Four).
She headlined the show alongside Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Van Ness Wu, and Ken Chu.
