Filipino fan Victoria Pendatun took to social media to reminisce meeting the late Meteor Garden star, Barbie Hsu, in Taiwan back in 2019.
Victoria documented her encounter with the actress in a vlog in 2019 and posted a short clip from the said vlog on her Facebook on February 3 as she mourned the passing of the actress.
"So in the next part of the video, my ultimate dream just came true. I was and still am a big fan of Meteor Garden (2001). Kahit bigyan niyo ako ng test kung anong nangyari on each episode, gurl Valedictorian ako diyan," read the texts in her video.
She added: "Never in my life inexpect ko na makikita ko idol ko ever. Kahit makita ko lang 'yung hotel niya solved na ako eh... pero... thank you God!"
Victoria met Barbie at the restaurant of the S Hotel in Taiwan where the Pinay fan's family was checked in at that time back in 2019.
"Excuse me, can I take a picture?" Victoria asked the actress when she saw her as can be seen in the video.
"Of course," Barbie replied.
"Oh my God!" Victoria exclaimed.
The Filipino fan then asked the Meteor Garden star if she could hug her. Barbie immediately gave her a hug.
Netizens were quick to react to Victoria's post.
"Omgggggggggggg 😭😭😭😭😭 at least once in your life you met her personally 💔," one fan commented.
"Wow na-meet mo pala in person c Shan Cai 🥺💔 RIP Shan Cai," another netizen said.
In an interview with News5, Victoria shared that they were waiting to check in at that time when she met Barbie.
"As a fan girl, I was so happy na nangyari 'yun," she recalled. "Nung day na' yun actually kakarating lang namin ng hotel waiting for check in. Ako, ang gusto ko lang ng time na 'yun makita lang 'yung mga location ng Meteor Garden kasi fan nga ako."
Victoria further recounted: "Nung nakita ko si [Barbie], actually hindi lang ako naka-smile nun eh, umiyak ako kasi siyempre dream come true talaga siya para sa akin."
