Since giving birth to her daughter MIchaela on Valentine’s day in 2020, Ethel Booba (real name Ethyl Coyoca Gabison) admitted that her life has totally changed for the better. From being known as a sexy comedienne and host in showbiz, Ethel has also comfortably slipped into the role of doting mom and devoted partner to her non-showbiz boyfriend Jessie Salazar.
Last February 22, Ethel shared in her latest vlog what went on in her daughter Michaela’s 5th birthday celebration, where the birthday girl and Ethel were dressed as princesses for the evening at the event held at the Aquila Crystal Palace event place in Tagaytay City.
“Thank you guys sa pagpunta sa party na ito kahit biglaan. Dapat bukas na ito pero biglang ngayon na agad. Salamat pa rin at nagawan niyo pa rin ng paraan. Mag-enjoy tayo tonight, kahit tayo tayo lang sa birthday ng aming baby,” Ethel shared during the start of the party, as shared in her vlog.
In her Instagram post, the 48-year-old actress shared more photos from the event, along with the caption, “Happy 5th Birthday Michaela. I wish maging magaling na ceo ka din someday 😊 May GOD Guide you always. Mommy and Daddy Loves you Forever and Ever. ❤️”
During the party, MIchaela’s parents also shared their birthday wishes for their only daughter. “Ang message ko sa ‘yo Michaela, sana lumaki kang mabuting tao, hindi lasinggera (laughs). Sana maging successful ka din at sana matupad ang iyong mga dreams at magkaroon ka ng God-fearing. Yan naman ang pinaka importante,” Ethel shared.
Ethel’s live-in partner for almost eight years, Jessie, also gave his wish for their “Little Booba.” “Andito kami lagi para sa ‘yo. Wala kaming gagawin kasi memories lang ang maiiwanan ko sa iyo so we’re going to be making it the best for you. Kaya kami nagpapaka mabuting tao para sa iyo. I love you. I love you so much!”

True to her comedic roots, Ethel also took photos and posed like a princess in her red ball gown, along with the caption, “Si Michaela ba ang may birthday o Ako? 🤣”

In a previous interview, Ethel shared how motherhood completely changed how she viewed her life. "Ngayon, iniisip ko kailangan ko talagang mag-ipon dahil 'yung future niya, 'yung pag-aaral niya doon ako nanganganib kasi Inglesera e. Hirap na hirap talaga ako e. Minsan sasabihin ko 'ah ok', minsan magtatanong Ingles, sasabihin ko na lang 'later I'm busy.' Kaya 'yung asawa ko tawang tawa talaga sa akin kasi hindi ko na talaga siya masagot kasi hirap na hirap ako talaga."
Although she has not completely turned her back on showbiz, Ethel said she is prioritizing business for the future of her family. She is currently the CEO of beauty brand Klir White. Despite taking a step back, Ethel said there are still acting opportunities being offered to her.
In a previous interview with ABS-CBN, she shared, "Marami pasabog. May nag-inquire sa series. Pero ayoko pabayaan mga distributors ko, papunta na doon puso ko. Iba eh.”
Before becoming a comedian and host, Ethel first joined showbiz as a contestant on Sing Galing. In 2007, she entered the Pinoy Big Brother house as part of the show's second Celebrity edition where she ended up doing a voluntary exit.
