Kaye Abad recently celebrated the birthdays of her husband, Paul Jake Castillo, and their son, Joaquin, with heartfelt surprises and a themed party.
A vlog documenting their birthdays was recently posted on the Kaye & Paul Jake YouTube channel.
Kaye and her children surprised Paul Jake with a luxury smartwatch on his birthday. Meanwhile, the couple organized a boxing-themed birthday party for Joaquin as per latter's request.
At the party, kids participated in warm-up exercises and learned boxing moves from coaches.
"Tapos na ang araw. Mukhang successful naman 'yung request ni Joaquin na boxing party," she said. "Tinanong ko si Joaquin kanina, he said he had so much fun. Actually, sabi niya it's the best birthday ever."
Kaye is now based in Cebu after tying the knot with Paul Jake in 2016. The couple have two kids now, Joaquin and Iñigo.
In a 2024 interview with Karen Davila, the actress shared that she had no hesitation about moving to Cebu after marriage.
"Never akong nagdalawang isip. It was really my dream to have my own family," she said.
"As early as 18, sabi ko when I have my own family, I think I'll stop acting because I want to concentrate with my family. At least ngayon hindi naman ako nag-stop, I'm still here, nag-lie low lang," she added.
Kaye highlighted that she is enjoying her laid-back life in Cebu. "I love it here in Cebu: very laid-back, simple life, everything is near. I would drive my kids to school. Mago-grocery ako mag-isa. 'Yung buhay na pinangarap ko natupad lahat dito," she said.
When it comes to parenting their children, Kaye shared that she's stricter compared to Paul Jake.
"I think mas strict ako. Mas lenient siya [sasabihin niya], 'Sige hayaan mo lang, patakbuhin mo.' Ako mas, 'No stop running now because we are about to sleep,'" she said.
When asked about her children joining show business, Kaye said she isn’t keen on the idea. However, she would consider it if they genuinely express interest in acting.
"It depends siguro, if they really like [acting], because I believe show business if you really like to act, you love what you're doing, mai-enjoy mo. Show business is not about fame, show business is not about earning a lot of money. Magsta-start ka, hindi ka naman kikita ng malaki," she said.
Kaye went on: "Akala nila ang pag-aartista napakadali, na masayang buhay. Pero kung gusto talaga nila, if nasa dugo nila na gusto nila umarte, I guess ipapa-try ko sa kanila."
