MANILA — Richard Gomez was all smiles for his comeback movie ‘Salvageland’ together with award-winning young actor Elijah Canlas.
Gomez, who was his wife Lucy Torres-Gomez, said he is proud of this film directed by Lino Cayetano.
Gomez was joined by his co-stars Elijah, Mon Confiado, Cindy Miranda, Angela Morena at the red carpet premiere of the movie, Tuesday night.
“I’m proud that it’s a well-made film, cast acted so well, well-thought movie. Maeenjoy nila ito, pero mapapaisip din sila dito,” said Goma.
Writer Shugo Praico said the film that they did is of "Hollywood" quality, to which Cayetano affirmed.
“Matapang yung pagkakakuwento, yung mga messaging and yung story, and yung tema ng tinatackle namin dito, hindi normal na tinatackle sa Philippine cinema,” said Elijah.
Goma added, “We play the role of policemen, father and son, against lawlessness, criminals, corruption.”
“And sa characters palang namin, he’s a jaded policeman, and I’m the optimistic one. Dalawang klaseng pulis yung makikita nyo rito sobrang akma yun kasi maraming pulis na ganito,” said Elijah.
"Salvageland" hits cinemas nationwide starting November 26, produced by Viva Studio, Rein Entertainment, and Viva Films.
As for Elijah, Goma has this to say about his co-actor in the movie, on how to stay afloat and relevant in this industry.
“Young guy, malayo ang aabutin nito. What I want to tell you is, pagbutihin mo to nang mabuti, mahalin mo ‘tong trabaho natin, it will take you far, far away.”
