Vice Ganda says being phenomenal ‘takes a phenomenon to sustain’

Vice Ganda's life and career changed forever when he first stepped onto the "It's Showtime" stage. A true showbiz story, it was the beginning of his time, arriving in a phenomenal way. 

After establishing his worth in the box office and on television through hit films and shows, the term "phenomenal" became associated with his name.

Fast forward to present, Vice told ABS-CBN News that being phenomenal means having longevity, a trait that’s difficult to attain in showbiz as stars come and go.

“Over the years — siyempre — nagbabago. Maganda ‘yung tanong mo. Rhea (Tan) and I, we have been able to experience the taste of success once in our lives. Now, sa rami nang nangyayari sa paligid, it really takes a phenomenon to sustain that,” he said in his pink ensemble. 

“Not everyone is able to sustain success, happiness. Not everyone is able to reach a longevity, ‘di ba?” he added. 

Humbly embracing the title, he told ABS-CBN News, “Ang daming mga pangalan or brands or mga pangyayari sa buhay na, ‘Nakita ko na siya. Nag-exist. And then after a while, nawala na.’ So for me, ang pagiging phenomenal is being able to be there and still be there tomorrow.”

As I open my eyes in the morning, before I close my eyes at night, I just pray and thank God. And I just let Him do His thing. If it's His will, I always tell Him, if it's Your will, I embrace it.”

He went on to say that God and the universe had brought him to where he is now, saying, “Hindi ko naman ito gawa. Kung nasaan ako, kung anong nangyayari ngayon, hindi ko siya ginawa, hindi ko siya sinadya. Hindi siya aksidente. Parang, dinala ako rito ni Lord. So, Siya ito, kung bakit n’yo ako nasaksihan a few years back, at kung bakit hanggang ngayon ay narito pa rin ako.”

Heart filled with gratitude, he added, “It's His will eh. I can only do so much and I can just only pray and thank Him every day for this wonderful, wonderful blessing. Sa Kanya kasi talaga ito. Kasi kahit anong job, kahit anong pang effort ang gawin ko para maging magaling na host, magaling na komedyante, magaling na performer, kung hindi ibibigay sa akin ng Panginoon ‘yung pagkakataon at ‘yung moment, wala siya.”

Because of his big influence and social media following, the Kapamilya superstar inked a contract with Belle Dolls, a beauty brand owned by Beautéderm, alongside the brand’s CEO, Rhea Tan.

Not only Vice, but also his boyfriend Ion Perez, was introduced as the brand's new face, which promotes total well-being through toxic-free products.

“We're grateful to enter an exciting era with Ion, whose authenticity shines wherever he goes, and a phenomenal era with Vice, whose sincerity shines through despite his superstar status,” Tan said, thanking the power couple. 

The female entrepreneur then recounted how her collaboration with the Phenomenal Unkabogable Superstar began, sharing, “Though Vice has only recently signed on as our ambassador, we have already been supporting him for three years, including our support for his scholarship projects for underprivileged students. Since then, we've always thought he’d be a great fit for the brand because of what he does for others.”

This is Vice and Ion's first joint endorsement, complete with a grand launch and media coverage.
