Kapamilya actress Xyriel Manabat addressed body-shaming comments on social media, posting a series of dance videos on TikTok and Instagram on November 13. The former Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition housemate shared clips showing her lip syncing a song and enjoying a dance trend, pairing them with a message calling out constant unsolicited remarks about her body.

In her Instagram caption, Xyriel wrote: “Bark all u want this is my healthiest and most disciplined version of myself... fitness journey vlog??? 👀🔜”

She expressed disappointment that some of the harshest comments came from fellow women, expanding on the emotional weight of such criticism.

“Ps. Nakakalungkot kapwa babae mo talaga sisira ng confidence mo no? I have been using my voice to empower women but some women... some women.... are... sad☺️"

She further reflected on how long she has endured these remarks, adding: “Grabe I am dealing with body shamers and people who objectify women for more than a decade na... wow people can be so cruel talaga no?”

The post quickly drew support from fellow celebrities who encouraged the actress to ignore the negativity.

“Hayaan mo sila nak kasi isa lang dahilan nyan aminin man o hindi INGGIT!!!!!! INGGIT AT INGGIT haaahhahhaa stay happy, at healthy nak @xyrielmanabat_ ❤️,” comedienne Pokwang commented.

Actress Iza Calzado also shared words of affirmation, telling Xyriel, “You look amazing and you are amazing no matter what size and season of life you are in. You are loved! ❤️”

Xyriel followed the Instagram upload with another TikTok video addressing false assumptions about her physical changes. “Ang dali nilang sabihin na I went through this and that na para bang may medical records sila e open book nga ko sa surgery suski po!!! Mga ayaw mag fact check at ang source ng information ay comment section sige paniwalaan niyo gusto niyo basta tiktok ako dito HAHAHAHHAAHAHAH STAY HOT BABES,” she wrote, emphasizing her frustration with misinformation and online speculation.

Aside from enduring body-shaming remarks online, Xyriel also receives comments claiming her body looks “too sexy for her age,” an issue she previously addressed in an interview with ABS-CBN News last September.

The 21-year-old actress explained that such reactions say more about the people making them than about her, noting that she has never acted in a way that sexualizes herself. “Mind your own business. Kung tingin mo na marami kaming sexy, thank you very much.”

She added, “It will never be about [myself] or my body kasi wala akong ginagawa. Wala ring ginagawang masama ang body ko. Appreciative ako kasi binigyan ako ni Lord ng ganitong katawan.” stressing that her natural appearance should not be treated as inappropriate.
