Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca broke his silence a week after Chie Filomeno shared on her Instagram Story which addressed their breakup rumors. During the media conference for his latest film, Delivery Rider, he expressed that the chapter of his life is over now and he has accepted everything.

Jake and Chie confirmed their dating status to the public back in 2023 to the surprise of their fans. Earlier this month, the actress was linked to businessman Matthew Lhuillier of the prominent Lhuillier clan of Cebu.

“I’m good at least, parang it’s a lot to take, di ba? Andaming nangyayari andaming sinasabi ng mga tao. I can officially say that chapter of my life is over now. To be quite honest with you parang I can at least say that I really loved that person deeply. For me, I respect that person until today,” Jake shared.

The Kapamilya actor admitted that there wasn’t any breakup but maintained that he loved the person deeply–– without naming the Kapamilya actress.

“I loved that person deeply, di ba? It was incredibly important to me but that chapter is over now and [I] have to accept it, yun po,” he added.

Jake added that he is focusing on his career now as he is busy working six times a week due to his multiple tapings for the series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo and an upcoming series, What Lies Beneath.

Despite this, he acknowledged that he found it challenging to have multiple roles especially at a challenging time he’s facing now.

“Siguro the most challenging part about this whole process is siyempre napapanood ako ng mga tao sa Batang Quiapo but they don’t know I made a movie, they don’t know I was doing all these things together, di ba? Siguro the challenge this past month, I hadn’t had the time to be Jake at all,” he claimed.

“These past few months hasn’t been easy kasi I’ve been working six days a week. There’s no time to be Jake. It’s almost like uwi ako pahinga derecho sa taping,” he continued.

Jake, however, insisted that he has reminded himself about his self-worth throughout it all. He claimed that despite what happened in the past few weeks, he found strength and took it like “a man.”

“I’m incredibly proud of myself because I handled the situation like a man. I didn’t make it difficult, I don’t want to take anything away. I don’t want to add more gasoline to the fire,” he shared.

“This experience nung isang buwan na ‘to, I’ve gone through all of these alone like a man. I really gave a lot of importance to that relationship so even in the end, I’d treat it properly as well. This is a better version of myself believe it or not. I’ve had a lot of time to process everything and accept everything,” he ended.
