Best known online as the Philippines’ well-loved “lumpia queen,” Abi Marquez’s popularity has only continued to grow with each recipe she makes online, as well as the number of accolades she has gained from award-giving bodies inside and outside the country.
Last August, she became the first recipient of the newly introduced Gold Stevie for Most Innovative Content Creator of the Year, a category honoring creators who redefine digital engagement and storytelling through social media, at the 2025 International Business Awards.
Last May, she also won the Food Blogger Award at the World Influencers and Bloggers Awards (WIBA) in Cannes. Abi flew to France to accept her award in person, proudly wearing a scene-stealing custom Filipiniana gown by Jo Rubio which paid homage to homage to Pinoy spaghetti
On her social media accounts last October 3, Abi shared the story behind her unforgettable scarlet gown. She wrote, “THE MAKING of my SPAGHETTI GOWN by Jo Rubio 🍝What started as a wild idea to bring Pinoy spaghetti to the global stage, turned into a red carpet moment at the Cannes Film Festival. My NYMA team, Ms. Pam Ricarte and Ms. Kat Bautista, pitched the concept of a spaghetti-inspired gown, and we knew Jo Rubio was the perfect designer to bring it to life.”

In an accompanying narration to her video reel, Abi also shared how impressed she was with Pinoy designer Jo Rubio’s work. “He is known for his modern take on terno, without losing the cultural essence. And ang ganda ng cuts and shapes. Parang nag-ma-magic ng katawan! The idea was the gown should come in a bold, red color of spaghetti sauce, a string of pearls curled on a fork with real gold coating to represent the noodles. And my handwriting of ‘Kain tayo!’ embroidered at the back as a nod to Filipino hospitality.”
Abi also gave a recap of her entire experience once she finally wore the gown at the event in Cannes. “We went all in with the spoon earrings, spaghetti nails from NailsByNica and a pasta bag by NIk Bentel Studio to complete the look. It looked great in our heads, but it looked amazing in the photos.
"After a couple of fittings, the gown was done and ready to be flown out to Cannes. I knew that we made a statement and sumakses tayo because photographers and even foreigners kept saying, ‘I love your gown!’ They were asking, ‘Are you wearing spaghetti?’ I felt cool and honestly, it felt like a full circle moment," she narrated.
"But the best part, I brought home the award for Food Creator of the Year at the World Influencers and Blogger Awards. I came up on stage, super proud to represent Filipino food, talent, and wearing a gown that tells our story.”
