Barretto matriarch Inday Barretto revealed that she doesn’t “get along fine” with her daughter, Marjorie Barretto. In an interview with veteran talent manager and showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz earlier this week, she shared that while they may not get along, she still loves her daughter.
Marjorie is one of the seven children of Inday with late husband Miguel Barretto and one of the three that entered the entertainment industry alongside sisters Claudine Barretto and Gretchen Barretto.

When asked to describe her daughter, the Barretto matriarch shared that she is “very strong-willed” which she claimed would go beyond normal.
“Marjorie is very strong-willed. Sometimes, lampas sa normal because even I as a mother get it,” she shared.
Inday revealed that they don’t get along and added how they are made from the same pattern as to why she understands her.
“I’m asked and I’m honest and I’ll tell the truth–– we don’t get along fine. I love her, she knows that. She better know it otherwise, what a loss,” she said
“Ako mahal ko sila pero I don’t take it against her kasi iba eh. Pero, tingin ko sa kanya parang pareho kaming made from the same pattern. Strong din siya but parang I feel rejection from her,” she added.
She then expressed how Marjorie is “hot and cold” with her and recalled the times when she wasn’t invited to any of her parties

“I just feel like she loves me but parang hindi ako enough sa kanya–– parang may hinahanap siya sa akin na hindi ko alam kung ano. Kasi kung alam ko, ibibigay ko,” she maintained.
Inday then admitted that she has a feeling that the reason for her daughters’ misunderstanding is because of her. She claimed how the sisters wouldn’t use things that were given by other siblings and recalled the recent wedding of her granddaughter, Claudia Barretto.
“Kinasal si Claudia, simple wedding pero very private pero beautiful… Nagsisikan sila sa dalawang kotse na maliit. I have a van–– aircon, may driver, brand new, ako lang magisa–– ayaw nila mag sakay sa akin. Because binigay ni Gretchen sa akin?” she narrated.
Despite this, Inday maintained that while her daughters may have misunderstandings, the love of family is above it all.
“This family, mag away-away kayo but no one can beat the love that is in this family kaya may away. Kasi kung kaaway kita edi sigawan mo ko, pagtatawanan kita–– paki ko. Pero kung love kita, tinaasan mo ako ng boses, ang sakit ah. It’s like that–– nagkampi-kampihan na sila,” she expressed.
