MANILA — Blackpink star Jisoo has shared her gratitude to Zayn Malik after teaming up with the English singer for a duet.
On Friday, the K-pop superstar and former One Direction member dropped "Eyes Closed," a track that explores the idea of stepping into a new romance without looking back, buoyed by the duo's soulful vocals.
Following the release, Jisoo took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes photos from the filming of the song's space-themed music video.
"I hope this song reaches many hearts," Jisoo wrote in the caption. "Let's never forget that everything we’ve been through was for the future."
Tagging Malik’s Instagram account in the caption, Jisoo wrote, "Working with you has been truly special."
"I'm so grateful for your kindness and your incredible voice," she added.
Fellow Blackpink member Rosé shared the song on her Instagram Stories, congratulating Jisoo and encouraging her followers to "go listen to this BEAUTIFUL song."
The duet comes as Jisoo continues to perform on Blackpink's "Deadline" world tour, which is set to make a two-night stop at the Philippine Arena in November.
In February, Jisoo released her debut extended play "Amortage," led by the single "Earthquake."
As part of promotions for "Amortage," Jisoo embarked on a solo fan meeting tour that made a stop at the Araneta Coliseum in March.
