Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee proudly shared details about his first-ever international film a French-Canadian production titled “Ailleurs la Nuit” (“Elsewhere at Night”) which will have its world premiere at the Montreal Film Festival on October 16.

In an interview, Enchong revealed that the project was filmed partly in the Philippines and mostly in Canada.

“I think 20% sa Philippines, 80% sa Canada. And then it’s gonna have its world premiere sa Montreal for the Montreal Film Festival on October 16,” he said.

He recalled that his first shooting day was a unique experience, as he handled multiple roles on his own before the rest of the team arrived. “Last year, ginawa ko siya noong November. Tapos, yung first day ko, kasi wala pa yung team dito sa Philippines. Ako yung nag-shoot sa sarili ko. Ako naghanap ng location, nagdamit sa sarili ko. Ako rin gumawa ng script,” he shared.

Enchong added that the project was an opportunity to apply everything he has learned in his nearly two decades in showbiz. “Ang sarap na bit-bit ko yung almost 20 years of learned lesson from the business to shooting my first international film,” he said.

Although he plays a supporting role, Enchong explained that the story resonates deeply with Filipinos, especially those with family abroad. “Kwento natin bawat Pilipino yun. Somehow, someway, meron tayong kapamilyang nag-o-OFW o bumabalik sa Pilipinas. So it’s such a story of our country,” he shared.

Aside from his international film debut, Enchong is also preparing to fly to Vancouver for the “ASAP Natin ‘To” live concert, part of the show’s 30th anniversary celebration.

“Kinikilabutan ako. Sobrang saya kasi finally makakabalik na rin kami doon sa mga TFC subscribers na talagang naghahantay ng live shows,” Enchong said. “It’s the 30th anniversary of ASAP, it’s Vancouver I need to be there.”

He added that reconnecting with Filipinos abroad through music and entertainment is always special. “Iba kasi yung pakiramdam na kasama nila kami habang kumakain sila, pagkatapos ng trabaho, umuwi sila, bibuksan yung TV, kasama kami. Parang family reuniting ganun yung pakiramdam always,” he said.
