Karylle shared how her passion for toy collecting started.
In an interview with Rico Hizon in ANC's Beyond the Exchange, the It's Showtime host shared that she was a big fan of Sanrio toys growing up.
"I was a Sanrio baby. I grew up in Greenhills, my dad had a clinic there and we would go to Gift Gate (toy store) but [they] had this rule that you can look but you can't touch because once you touch the toys, you will buy the toys," she recalled.
During a recent trip to Japan, Karylle decided to finally purchase Hello Kitty toys.
"In a recent trip to Japan, I could afford a Hello Kitty already, and [I told my dad] 'Dad, I'm gonna buy some.' I started putting them in my bags and also kinda dressing up like Hello Kitty more and more with a ribbon," she shared.
The television host-singer considers toy collecting as a way of healing her inner child.
"I think the theme for the past two years for me was healing the inner child. And you do parang find comfort in these toys that make you smile. Parang I used to have stationary, anything Hello Kitty... I would look at each toy one by one pero look lang talaga and ang cute niya and I would spend hours in the Hello Kitty store, ganun lang," she said.
Aside from Hello Kitty items, Karylle is also a collector of Quiccs by Filipino toy designer Quiccs Maiquez.
"I had him in my podcast, K's Drama, and then you get to know the person behind the art. So with Quiccs, I would definitely spend to have it as gifts also," she relayed.
On her advice for aspiring toy collectors, the It's Showtime host said: "Siguro first let's support our own like Quiccs. He has become close to our family as well."
