Former Philippine Senator Kiko Pangilinan expressed his support to celebrity couple Chito and Neri Miranda after the latter was arrested for alleged estafa and violation of the Securities Regulation Code. In an Instagram post, the politician declared they are ready to help Neri in her fight as she is only a victim as well of the ongoing case.
Chito is Kiko’s nephew through his father who is a cousin of the former senator.

“Narito kami handang tumulong, Chito,” Kiko wrote.
The politician shared that Neri was merely a product endorser and has no involvement in any of the operations of the company involved in the alleged estafa .
“Ang product endorser ay isang talent at kung walang koneksyon o kinalaman sa ownership or management at operations nung kumpanya na involved sa iligal na operations ay hindi dapat managot sa nasabing iligal na gawain,” he added.
Kiko maintained that Neri wouldn’t commit a crime and she is only a victim as well of the whole fiasco. He alleged that complainants should file against the owners of the company and not against her.
“Ako mismo ay saksi sa kabaitan ni Neri. Nabiktima din si Neri ng mga estafador at ang dapat habulin dito ay ang may ari at nagpapatakbo ng kumpanya. At dagdag pa, dahil walang natanggap na anumang mga notice sina Chito at Neri sa kaso, kwestyonable ang ligalidad ng warrant of arrest na dapat kwestyunin sa Hukuman,” he continued.
“Nawa’y ma dismiss na ang kasong ito outright o di kaya maibalik sa piskalya for preliminary investigation at in the meantime ay maquash o ma set aside yung arrest warrant,” he ended.

Meanwhile, Chito expressed his gratitude towards the former senator for extending their help for his wife. In the comment section of the post, he remained hopeful that his wife will be released and maintained her innocence.
“Salamat Kuya Kiko. Sana ma-release si Neri agad kasi wala naman sya notice na natanggap. Handa naman sya humarap sa court kung kelangan eh...pero paano nya idedefend sarili nya eh warrant na agad binigay sa kanya na walang bail,” he wrote.
It was earlier this week when Neri was reportedly arrested for the said charges.
